Here is a short snippet which didn't make it into Reborn To You book. COPYRIGHT lays with SOLSTICE PUBLISHING AND MELISSA MILLER. 2013 So writing a book like this, there is always moments which don't make it into it. One of the stories I discovered later on. To late to add it to the book. Because in my own sheer need to write it in the required time frame, aka as it happened means I missed out some of the best pieces I need to do. If you've not gathered by now, my mind doesn't work this way very well. It can do it for fiction, however not for the old memory. Rather the opposite. Stories return to me as and when I remember them. Yes, its my own fault for not tucking my head as much as I should. I'm sure somewhere Zenus and Kayla are yelling. “I freaking told you so.” My answer to you is. “No one likes a know it all.” During one of the times I happened to be to injured to dance. I got “side lined” and here comes one of the stories my friend from my rather small, maybe angry group asked me to tell. She just started out and I think she may have been one of Jay's slaves at the time. So as I sit here thinking about this story I can actually still feel the pins and needles I felt during this time. The feeling lasted a few days. Thanks to a miss communication. To understand this story let me quickly tell you about the night before. Jay won the “right to have me” around him. I got handcuffed/chained to the DJ Booth and he went on to beat Derek. Thanks to the wonderful dancer he brought in. We called her Dumbtruck. I've never seen her bring it like she did on this night. So I'm off with injures we don't know what you'd call what I dealt with. I got pins and needles in my arms, neck, basically I felt like hell. Derek didn't want me to be dancing so I needed to be “Side lined” in the story and I stupidly allowed him to come up with how he wanted to do this. Well I wish I hadn't. I swear I was a walking target for these two in their who's got the better idea or way of thinking. Not my exact wording I want to put here, but we are in polite company. I'm was meant to do a running dive and land on top of Jay in a way to end the war we are fighting. Again he screwed up or I did. It could have been me. I got up onto the bar, ran along it and dived, he caught me. When he spun me around to set me on my feet and allow me to lock him a series of dance moves, he hit my head, back of my neck off the end of the bar. This is where I don't remember being driven into the ground. I think I blacked out or was just out. I don't remember hitting the deck, just waking up on the floor. He dropped me face first into the ground, I was meant to put my feet down. Well I guess I got knocked out. My memory is a little blurry there. I know whatever happened made Derek deck Jay later on. By this point I didn't really care to much, then again this is the upside to staying at Dereks. I didn't have too. The second night rolls in and this is the only time Jay ever got in the car with us. We roughly plan out what is going to happen and Derek warns him no stupid ass moves tonight since I'm hurt. I'm denying it as I did. Derek knew me better than I knew myself and quickly told me to shut up to which I followed up with. “If you want to pull tonight you'll change your tone.” He did. We always went back and forth at each other. We had a weird friendship thing down. Some say we were far to close and well I think we weren't close enough. So I get dragged, yes someone dragged me. By my hair and Jay honesty didn't hurt me. Sorry to shatter the glass on this one. Its mostly preplanned, he never yanked on my hair. I allowed him to lead my body. Another hit there for some of you who are still dancing. Give yourself over to the move and it looks less "pushed or forced". I got thrown onto the middle of the dance floor. Derek went to 'get to me' as you exact in our storyline and of course Jay yanks me away as one of his students stops Derek. I look a mess with my pain smeared and my clothes torn. People really bought this. So much so Jay got slapped by one of the girls in the 'audience' and Derek got enough numbers he could have started his own local directory. Scarily enough, I managed to stay out of sight for the rest of the night, so people really believed I was handcuffed somewhere. At this time he started to work with Snake and he loved the idea of tormenting Marie's character all the time. I have a lot of practice playing the tormented character I realised writing this book. Don't be fouled by Marie though, she has spunk and well you don't want to be near by when she decides to hand out the punishment. For tonight I started my comeback. Jay wanted me to 'think' something up. A bad moved for him and well he didn't tell Dumbtruck until he got out on the floor what we planned. What he didn't realise is she took off the second she could. He needed to capture better girls to work with. I'm actually laughing while I write this line. She knew better than to stick around if she didn't know what I'd got up to. So Jay did the whole threatening to kiss me bit, while Snake held my arms and Jay yanked my head around. Again he wasn't really hurting me, this is mostly staged. He though did say some bits to Derek which weren't in the idea we discussed. Most of the stuff we discussed was really the basic outline and the rest always called on the fly, because we can read a room. Hint there to dancers who are reading this. Jay slapped me, Snake looked at me shocked as my crazy laugh started to echo through the hidden microphone he held. When they saw me lick what is meant to be fake blood coming out of my mouth, but was actually my blood. Yes that was real. I bit my tongue. What is new there. One of these days I'll learn who to take one of those without biting my tongue. Snake drops me and backs off as the laugh echo's out of me. Jay is meant to get all worried and is to start dragging me about by my throat. Instead he feels me up and tires to taunt Derek with the idea that I'm now his pet. This only feeds my insane character and I start to speak of how things are never what they seem. Demons come in many different shape and sizes. I'm one of nightmares and I shall return to my creator. The usual one.. Derek starts to act worried. To end this story temporary or take it a new direction depending how you view this. Derek starts to get to me, Jay starts to bust into a dance routine against each other. I see off a couple of “Jay's Slaves”, they were called back then come after me. These were his female students. He really wasn't nice to them. I think he use to take cuts off their pay too. Well each to their own. So I'm staying out of the action and feeding the crowd as I go back an forth with Snake. Here's an art form which is really lost. I've given Snake a low blow, been handcuffed and even been dragged into the dance stuff by Jay. Yes, he used me as his personal stop sign for Derek. Every time they were meant to get to the fighting part, my ass ended up on the floor. I'm threatening Jay with all kinds of stuff. Even being side lined I knew my place in the storyline. We only did things when Derek and Jay stopped moving. We didn't have to do much, however it worked. Jay of course didn't lose this night. He got away with me in tow. They were suppose to knock me out again and 'brain wash me'. Feed my demons and there is some other stuff I wasn't paying attention to. I really should have. What can I say? Jay's character must have been addicted to me or something. It must have been one hell of a first kiss. Before he does this I get in a lucky move, I escaped the cuffs and slap Jay to get to Derek. He has me about three seconds and then I get dragged back. Not without torturing his students first. This long ass performance got us a VIP section there and got us booked three or four more times for this man. I think one of Jay's students lost her top, another got pulled down onto their face, Snake got his hand handcuffed to his ankle. I think I might have slapped one of the students on the ass before they took off. Jay reacted to each one. I was meant to be helping Derek win. Derek regrouped with Miaha and one other dancer, at the end where he swears to get me back. The storyline went on for another two clubs. Snake and me worked the crowd so they got more into the boys doing break dancing, teasing a fight. This is not easy to do and I respected them both. We were cast as one type of dancers and seeing this happen made me feel like we did something special. Snake and me only made noise when the two needed to reposition or needed us to take over for a bit. We did successfully, whether I escaped Snake's grip or whether I even tackled Jay. These were all planned so they held the best impact on the story. We're designed to create the best mayhem. One of the best 'none dance bits I did'. I really do hate talking on the microphone. Bet you didn't know that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll be releasing more stories like this over the coming weeks to its release and its Pre-Sale. So enjoy them and get to know your favourite author. Dear Readers, Fans and Supporters

Today I'd like you to welcome the amazing author Dan O'Brien. His new book will blow you away and leave you panting. A Writing Perspective from the Other Side of the Fence A Guest Post by Dan O’Brien Life as a writer can be hard sometimes. Success is elusive; fans shift as often as a summer wind. Yet, we persevere, writing into the late hours of the night and waking in the early hours of the morning to log the hours and enter, for a time, the worlds we create. When I first started writing, more than a decade ago, it was because I loved the idea of immersing myself in a place where I could construct the narrative; walk through dense forests and to the tops of mountains. Over time the process became more about writing as a tool to move through emotions and languishing memories that required catharsis. Writing takes on many forms, for many different writers, over the course of our lives. For me, the process is the reward. I love to write. When I ask myself that silly question of what I would do if I had all the money in the world, the answer is always quite simple: write. Now more than a decade later, I have a renewed sense of purpose and have become quite adept at balancing the spinning plates of responsibility. Recently, between being a full-time graduate student and writer, I joined Empirical magazine as an editor – among other responsibilities. A national magazine similar in spirit to Harper’s or The Atlantic, the magazine is firmly rooted in a West Coast sensibility. There is a little something for everyone, and honestly, the hope is that everyone will take a look. Contributors to the magazine come from around the globe and cover everything from politics to fiction. Working at a magazine, especially at this point in its maturation, is a wonderful experience. There are so many moving parts that enliven your day. Sometimes I spend the day sorting through fiction and poetry submissions, searching for that piece of prose, or perhaps a stanza, that ensnares my imagination. Other days I am editing, constantly referring to the Chicago Manual of Style to ascertain the correct usage of an archaic sentence structure. As a writer, the prospect of editing and rummaging through the work of others might not sound exciting, but there are some wonderful consequences:
However, the most important component for me is: 4.You get to help others bring their work into a public forum For many writers, and certainly for me early in my writing career, the notion of being picked up by a magazine or a small press was foremost in my mind. It was that distant promise of publication and everything that goes with it that pushed me forward. When I got rejection letters, most of which lacked a personal touch, I would get down on my writing, denigrate my ability. The years passed, during which thousands of rejection letters amassed, and I realized that the pursuit of writing for a purely extrinsic reward was dooming myself to Vegas-style odds. I became clear to me that I needed to write because I loved it, and then find a way to share it with others – even if it was not through traditional routes. I found that I was more comfortable with my writing when I did it for the pure joy of it. Now that I am on the other side of the fence, so to speak, I have noticed a few myths about submitting to paying publications that otherwise mystified and frustrated me prior to becoming an editor and being responsible for interacting with first-time and established authors. I have decided to provide a humorous, but serious, collection of things you should do and things you shouldn’t do when submitting and entering into a discourse with a publication – sprinkled, of course, with some anecdotes. And without further ado (or perhaps slight ado if you count this sentence here): Things You Should Do
Things You Shouldn’t Do
I could probably keep listing things you shouldn’t do, but I will wrap it up there. I encourage you to keep trying and keep writing. Things only get better with time, and time is all we really have. I love to hear from other writers and potential readers, so please stop by and say hello. She's a bestseller and one hell of a author. Thanks so much for allowing me to snag a spot on your blog for a little overtaking with some Highlander yumminess. Excerpt: Desire comes in many, many forms. It can be a wish for something simple: a new dress, that new music CD, a new car. It can be a wish for something you think forbidden: a spanking from your partner, watching two others have sex, using a vibrator or participating in a threesome. There's also work related desires: promotions, raises and so on. Sometimes even just a compliment. On the other hand of all of these desires are also consumer desires. That's right. You have to want something in order for a market to be able to be created for it. If no one bought Seether (music group)...they wouldn't get record deals or be on the shelves. Today, I'm calling out your consumer desires. You know what you like to read or what you may like to read. It's always said that you should never judge a book by it's cover. However, from time to time I think we're all guilty of doing just that. A cover can make you form an opinion of a book before you ever read the book. And then, how often are we surprised when we do decide to read the blurb? If you give 5 writers the same image and tell them to write about it, I can pretty much guarantee each one will be completely different. In the same manner, you give them 5 plots and how each one works their character to get there will all be different as well. It's the beauty (and sometimes curse) or creativity. I’m hoping that I’ve created something with Highlander Mine that will have everyone enjoying it…and not just me. I hope you’ll join me…along with Breandan, Auralee and their friends on their journey.
